  • You plan to exit Thailand temporarily but want to return without reapplying for a new visa.

Those holding multiple-entry visas, visa exemption or certain special visas (like the Thai Elite Visa) generally do not require a re-entry permit.

Types of Re-Entry Permits

  • Single Re-Entry Permit: Allows a one-time re-entry to Thailand before your visa expires.
  • Multiple Re-Entry Permit: Allows multiple border crossings during the validity of your visa, ideal for travellers who leave and return frequently.

  • A re-entry permit does not extend your visa validity. Ensure your visa duration covers your planned travel.
